Additional requirements were introduced on 30 September 2019 for witnessing documents that are to be registered in the Queensland Land Registry. The changes affect both signatories and witnesses to these documents. Honorary Justices in Victoria are recognised as Authorised Witnesses under the Queensland (Qld) legislation, if they choose to witness and sign documents. This will require that the Honorary Justice must follow the requirements on document record keeping according to the relevant Qld legislation. This module outlines the requirements to be followed as an Authorised Witness. Using the resources provided by RVAHJ for recording the documents witnessed the process is not as difficult as it can seem.
